I'm an aspiring author, a copy editor and proofreader.
I have a few works in progress that I would like to publish as well. They are also going through their processes, and those would be the editing and the proofreading stages before getting to see them published.
I know that my own works will have to be read, in this same fashion by someone else, this makes me nervous. So I know what you as an author is going through as well, because I am right there with you.
Granted, I am just starting out. We all have to start somewhere, right. I have done certifications in various areas for copy editing and proofreading. I prefer fiction novels, in the sapphic or LGBTQ+ genre, done by indie authors.
When I read a book, even for my pleasure, I always see mistakes if there are any. Let me help you fix them before readers like me get to them.
I am still building out my portfolio, and hope to have something there to show soon.

A: Those people started where I am starting now. Someone gave them a chance to work with their manuscripts. Obviously, they proved their worth. I would like the same opportunity to work with authors and build my skill up to that level too.
A: Only as an avid reader, picking up errors in published works. Then sending messages to authors, telling them where there are problems in their books. I have been doing this for years, and I have even started calling some of those authors friends. Most of them appreciate the feedback. So, I would think that I have some experience with it.
